Description: Over the years, much of the Society of Actuaries exam-related discussion has centered on structure, such as the number of tracks, many small exams versus a small number of large exams, ways to incorporate professionalism and nontechnical skills. Lost in those discussions is the process of continually improving the exams themselves. This article uses questions from old and new exams to show how the written-answer fellowship exams have changed to expect candidates to demonstrate higher level skills than in the past.
