Fall 2008 Retirement Benefits Design and Pricing (DP) Exam

Retirement Benefits DP is a written–answer examination offered in the fall of each year. Both a U.S. and Canadian version of the exam are administered, each of which has its own reading list.

The syllabus for this exam covers the basics of design and valuation for the full gamut of retirement plans found in the US and Canada. Specific topics include qualified defined benefit and defined contribution plans, retiree health plans, nonqualified plans, international plans, actuarial valuation methods and assumptions, regulation, plan investments, and professional standards of practice.

This exam is required for candidates seeking to complete the Retirement Benefits specialty track for Fellowship.
