Schaumburg, Ill. and Sunnyvale, Calif. (September 23, 2019)—During the2019 InsureTech Connect conference in Las Vegas, the Society of Actuaries (SOA) and Plug and Play today announced the two organizations are nearing an agreement on professional development offerings and learning opportunities. The SOA and Plug and Play plan to work together on a variety of InsurTech-focused events and projects for the SOA membership, insurance industry and technology sector.
The two organizations will announce additional deals with the completion of the agreement later this year. Plug and Play will work with the SOA on the development of InsurTech sessions at SOA events. The events and projects proposed include regular webcasts, podcasts, networking opportunities and an annual InsurTech event.
The SOA is already hosting its LTC Tech Summit on Nov. 7 at the Plug and Play Tech Center in Sunnyvale, Calif. The summit gathers together industry trailblazers to discuss technology, predictive analytics and long-term-care (LTC) services. The summit features G. Michael Maddock, CEO and founding partner at Maddock Douglas, who will discuss industry disruption.
This agreement supports the SOA’s strategic plan and initiatives involving the organization’s long-term growth strategy, insurance trends (i.e. InsurTech and artificial intelligence), member engagement and professional development.
