Experience Studies – Individual Annuities
The Individual Annuity Experience Committee of the Society of Actuaries has completed an experience study of individual payout annuities, covering calendar years 2005 through 2008. The intent of this study is to provide recent annuitant mortality experience which can be compared to the Annuity 2000 Mortality Table and the recently completed 2012 Individual Annuity Mortality Table.

The accompanying pivot tables allow the experience to be examined in more detail. The 2005-08 tables include a comparison of the 2012 IAM Table adjusted to each of the years 2005 to 2008 individually. The printed report included only a higher level comparison. The Excel Update file included summarizes this additional information at a higher level.

The 2000-08 pivot table is included to facilitate comparisons to the prior study. The 2012 IAM entries in the pivot table include only values for the years 2005-08.
