Description

Conventional wisdom in the United States is that mortality by violent causes of death is disproportionately experienced in underrepresented communities. This study aims to quantify this experience in more detail than is commonly reported. To achieve this, the authors examined disparities by race and ethnicity and other variables for three violent manner of deaths using data from 27 U.S. states between 2016 and 2020.
