Description

The Mortality and Longevity Strategic Research Program Steering Committee initiated an expert panel discussion series on topics related to modeling and projecting older age mortality. The first report in the series is now available and examines cancer mortality trends, treatments and technology and what might be expected in the future.

Among the topics being considered for the next expert panel discussion are cardiovascular disease mortality trends and older age mortality assumptions. Suggestions for future expert panel discussions on older age mortality should be submitted to Research-ML@soa.org.

Look for the second report in the series to be released in first quarter 2025.
