Description: The presenters focus on traditional and non-traditional techniques for setting IBNR and assume some experience on the topic. Take in a brief overview of the basic development of IBNRs for financial reporting. Then explore general considerations and various methods used to estimate claim costs, plus understand variability in IBNR projections as well as challenges that arise in certain situations. There will be opportunities for the audience to share ideas and considerations based on past experiences.

Description: Several key market trends have encouraged the development and launch of direct to consumer business models over the last few years. The presenters will look at the impact this is having on traditional business models and the potential it has to open up growth paths to target markets. Description: To remain relevant, life insurers need to understand changing consumer behavior and the shifting sands of buying triggers. The presenters will look at consumer studies, both U.S. and global, that reveal changing behaviors that influence the decision to buy or not buy life insurance. They will look at four demographic and economic categories including Millennials, Generation X, Boomers and the Silent Generation and how these generational groups do or don't differ in their feelings and behaviors around life and health. The presenters will address new growth opportunities for companies that align their value proposition to these changing attitudes. They will explore opportunities around health and wellness to increase policy holder engagement and share insight into generational attitudes around wearables and the sharing of personal data.
