Description: The Individual Annuity Experience Committee of the Society of Actuaries has completed an experience study of individual annuities covering the calendar years 2000 - 2004. The intest of this study was to provide recent annuitant mortality experience which can be compared to the Annuity 2000 Mortality Table, and provide a basis for a possible revision to that table. These are 2 Pivot table data for that experience study. One is for all companies combined and the other is for 10 common companies. Description: The proposed new table, recommended as suitable for a new Group Annuity Reserve Valuation Standard, if accepted and adopted by regulators, would incorporate the use of generational mortality into statutory reserving requirements for group annuities for the first time. Description: In 2005, the Life and Health Actuarial Task Force [LHATF] of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners [NAIC] requested that the actuarial professional bodies develop mortality tables for reserving that would better reflect the actual mortality of companies for the mortality of preferred risks underwritten in the marketplace today. Setting different levels of valuation mortality appropriate for preferred risks would largely address issues of reserve redundancy due to the assumption of mortality. This interim report covers the Data Validation, Underwriting Criteria, and Experience Analysis portions of this project.

Description: The Mortality Improvement Survey Subcommittee of the Society's Committee on Life Insurance Mortality & Underwriting Surveys has completed its report on the results of a survey to examine mortality improvement practices with respect to annuity insurance pricing in both the US and Canada.
