Description: The Society of Actuaries and LIMRA have sponsored a U.S. Individual Disability Income Persistency Study. The report, authored by Cathy Ho and Steve Elek, presents the results of a study of individual disability income (“IDI”) lapse experience in the United States between observation years 2000 and 2007. This is the first report in a two-part series that will present results of a study conducted jointly by LIMRA and the Society of Actuaries (SOA) and based on data provided by 12 individual disability income insurance writers.

Description: Milliman was hired by the Society of Actuaries (SOA) to provide high face amount mortality data from a mortality study Milliman recently completed. High face amounts are defined as $1 million and higher. The information in the tables was taken or derived from the data collected and used to produce the Milliman Industry Mortality Study and Analysis (MIMSA).

Description: The Society of Actuaries Group Annuity Experience Committee has completed this report, which presents the 2003 through 2006 calendar year experience of retired individuals in the United States who are covered under group pension contracts. The committee has also presented the results in pivot table format to allow readers to easily customize their analyses to suit their individual purposes. Description: The purpose of this survey is to gather a high-level view of U.S. Group Term Life Insurance mortality results during the COVID-19 pandemic, as compared to prior period baseline mortality results. The datasets for this report encompass all Group Term Life claims reported to participating carriers as of August 31, 2020. The Committee is grateful that 20 of the top 21 U.S. Group Term Life insurers are participating in this survey, with market share representing roughly 90% of the industry.

Description: Based on work performed by Bob Howard, a former member of RPEC, the SOA developed a spreadsheet-based program that allows users to create a customized mortality improvement scale using the RPEC_2014 model. The RPEC_2014_v2018 model found here is a new version of the tool updated by the SOA and RPEC to reflect historical U.S. mortality experience through 2016. The tool can be used to model different assumption sets while utilizing the same methodology underpinning the development of Scale MP-2018.

Description: The Society of Actuaries (SOA) Research Institute’s Individual Annuity Experience Committee (IAEC) and LIMRA are soliciting surrender/lapse, withdrawal, living benefit utilization, annuitization, and premium deposit experience for fixed indexed annuities (FIAs) both with and without a guaranteed living benefit offering for contract year 2023 (from contract anniversaries in 2023 to contract anniversaries in 2024).
