Welcome to the fourth issue of International News of 2024. With the summer well underway, I am excited to share some recent updates in our community as we look towards the remainder of the year.

As you are reading this issue, the voting for SOA section council will be open soon in August. I encourage you review the biographies of the candidates for the International Section Council and make your selections. In addition to voting, if you are interested in contributing right away, please feel free to reach out about joining as a friend of the council.

I am also pleased to announce the section council has voted to host two in-person events at the ImpACT meeting coming this October. Mark your calendars and prepare to engage with peers and participate in the sessions sponsored by the sections. We hope to meet you at the breakfast and event in person.

On another note, the section council recently passed a motion to co-sponsor a research project on offshore reinsurance jurisdiction, in collaboration with the Reinsurance Section. This initiative aims to provide insights that will benefit our members.
