Chairperson’s Corner—Emerging Content and Opportunities

As part of the section’s efforts to foster research, innovation, and actuarial education related to the distribution of insurance and financial services products, we are thankful for Christin’s, Amanda’s and Mark’s contributions to this newsletter. Beyond our periodic newsletters, I wanted to also draw attention to some of the other stimulating content and thought leadership we have recently released and have planned:
- Podcasts: Please see https://www.soa.org/sections/marketing-distribution/marketing-distribution-resources/ for several recent releases and thoughtful discussions with a diverse variety of industry and professional experts.
- Webcasts: We have two sponsored webcasts for your consideration and continuing education:
- On Sept. 14, we provided fresh understanding into COVID’s impact on the marketing and distribution of life, annuity, and health products; and
- then on Nov. 11, we are happy to present our third annual perspective on professionalism from a viewpoint that spans actuarial and sales/marketing functions.
- 2021 ImpACT Conference: We are excited to make multiple contributions to the meeting (all available on demand).
As our section expands actuarial awareness and knowledge in the areas of marketing, distribution, and sales, we also continue to seek to add new and different voices and insight to our content collection.
