GH 201-U Valuation and Regulation, U.S
The Valuation and Regulation, U.S. course is the second part of the two-course sequence in the Group and Health Insurance practice area. Candidates may take either GH 201-U or GH 201-C as part of their sequence (but may not receive credit for both).
Course Learning Objectives
Upon successful completion of GH 201-U Valuation and Regulation, U.S., you will understand the following learning objectives:
- How to apply valuation principles for short duration group and health insurance contracts;
- How to prepare and interpret insurance company financial statements in accordance with Statutory Accounting Standards and GAAP;
- How to evaluate the impact of regulation on insurance companies and plan sponsors in the United States;
- How to describe government programs providing health benefits in the United States; and
- How to describe the flow of funds in the health care system and the role of providers in the system.
