Robert Eaton, FSA 2009, MAAA
I am a hard-working volunteer for the SOA with a background spanning health and life insurance. As a steward of the SOA’s strategic vision, I will perform my diligence in making key decisions and incorporate my breadth of experience to ensure our organization remains effective and our brand remains valuable.
Brief description of current work:
Robert is a consulting actuary with the Tampa office of Milliman. He re-joined the firm in 2014 after spending nine years in the long-term care (LTC), life, and health industry setting, both in corporate and consulting capacities.
Primary Area(s) of Practice:
Robert's current role focuses on life insurance and LTC. He has helped Milliman's worksite and individual clients with traditional LTC product development, pricing, reserving, and premium rate increases. Robert also assists clients with mergers & acquisitions for blocks long-term care, life insurance, and worksite A&H products. He serves as the Appointed Actuary for a mid-sized company. Prior to joining Milliman, Robert worked in the worksite LTC division of John Hancock as a pricing actuary, and as a corporate and pricing actuary at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts.
Robert was the Chairperson of the SOA’s Long-Term Care Insurance Section Council (2018-2019) and the editor of the Long-Term Care Newsletter (2016-2018). He also served as the Chairperson of the SOA’s LTC Reputational Risk Task Force in 2018. He is currently serving on the Executive Committee of the ILTCI Conference. Robert completed the SOA’s Predictive Analytics Certificate Program in 2017.
Robert was one of the SOA’s 2018 Annual Outstanding Volunteers. He began his career with Milliman's Tampa office in 2004.
