Message One
Dear SOA Members,
I’m Yukki Yeung, and I’m excited to bring a fresh perspective and global experience to the 2025 Society of Actuaries Board of Directors ballot.
Growing up in Hong Kong, studying in Singapore, and earning finance, actuarial, and data science degrees from Drake University and Northwestern University, I’ve developed a global lens and a deep respect for cross-cultural collaboration. I’ve worked at Mercer, Genworth, and Prudential across actuarial functions—from valuation to modeling to process improvement—which gave me firsthand insight into the challenges actuaries face across sectors. Today, I work in Internal Audit at Legal & General America, where I focus on actuarial governance, data analytics, and AI innovation. I also teach data science at Northwestern University and serve as Chair of the SOA’s Professional Development Committee. If elected, I will bring this blend of technical expertise, cross-functional collaboration, and global mindset to help the SOA:
- Lead responsibly in AI and emerging technologies
- Support members across borders, career stages, and practice areas
- Strengthen our influence through inclusion, innovation, and clear communication
Let’s shape a future-ready profession—together. I'd be honored to have your vote.
Warm regards,
Yukki Yeung, FSA, MAAA

Message Two
Dear SOA Members,
Thank you again for the warm encouragement and support since this year’s election slate was announced. I'm honored to be an endorsed candidate for the SOA Board of Directors—and I’d love to share what I hope to bring if elected.
I’ve worked across actuarial functions at Mercer, Genworth, and Prudential. Currently, I’m part of Group Internal Audit at Legal & General, leading projects at the intersection of actuarial governance, data analytics, and generative AI. I also teach data science at Northwestern University and serve as Chair of the SOA’s Professional Development Committee.
What drives me in every role is simple: to grow and help others grow, to learn and help others learn.
I've led innovation initiatives using gen AI, co-authored a professionalism paper on responsible AI, and spoken at global forums about bias and ethics in algorithms. But beyond technical work, I care deeply about inclusion, engagement, and making sure the actuarial profession stays relevant, connected, and impactful.
If elected, I will:
- Champion responsible innovation and future-ready education
- Strengthen global and inter-generational connections
- Amplify member voices and promote diverse perspectives
The SOA shaped my journey—from a scholarship student at Drake to where I am today. I’d be honored to give back by serving on the Board and working with you to build a bold, inclusive, and future-ready profession.
Thank you again—and I’d be grateful for your vote.
Warm regards,
Yukki Yeung, FSA, MAAA

Questionnaire
PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND AND VOLUNTEER EXPERIENCE: Provide a brief description of your professional background and the type of work you have performed. Please include SOA and non-SOA volunteer and governing experiences including collaborative leadership. Explain how these experiences have prepared you as an Elected Board Member and qualify you in carrying out the strategic direction of the SOA.
I bring a breadth of experience across valuation, financial reporting, governance, internal audit, and innovation. In my current role, I integrate emerging technologies into audit processes and lead projects at the intersection of actuarial science, AI, and internal controls. I was recognized with an Innovation Award by Group Internal Audit for developing a gen AI prompt library to draft audit reports. This work demonstrated efficiency gains and required cross-functional collaboration, risk management, and clear communication—key skills for serving on a strategic board like the SOA’s.
My leadership extends to professional standards and ethics. As a member of the American Academy of Actuaries' Committee on Professional Responsibility, I co-authored the “Actuarial Professionalism Considerations for Gen AI” paper. After its release, I proposed short-form videos and social media to boost engagement— a refreshing approach that helped translate complex insights to a wider audience. As AI becomes a central strategic priority for the SOA, I offer firsthand experience in applying it responsibly and a vision for how actuaries can lead in shaping ethical, value-driven AI.
I currently chair the SOA Professional Development Committee, where I've led strategic planning and growth initiatives. I’ve also served on the Nominating Committee, as Vice Chair and grader for the Predictive Analytics Exam committee, and on the oversight group for the SOA Research Institute’s automated vehicles report.
Beyond SOA, I teach data science at Northwestern and mentor underprivileged high school students, helping shape the next generation of analytics talent. My work bridges technical and human elements— skills essential to steward the profession’s future.
What distinguishes me is my ability to combine deep actuarial experience with hands-on AI leadership and a commitment to inclusion, innovation, and communication. I bring a unique lens to the SOA Board at a pivotal time in the profession’s evolution.
