Society of Actuaries Refreshes Predictive Analytics Content for Certificate Program

Schaumburg, IL, August 12, 2022 – The Society of Actuaries (SOA) announces refreshed, innovative content on predictive analytics for its members. The SOA’s modified Predictive Analytics Certificate Program provides hands-on practical instruction with a level of precision consistent with current SOA designations. SOA members now have the option to earn either the Predictive Analytics Certificate or a new Advanced Predictive Analytics Certificate with additional e-learning opportunities.

“We strive to meet the needs of our members, providing them with education on the forefront of the profession,” said Jeremy Webber, SOA Director of Education Program Development. “Our certificate programs are part of this mission of inspiring risk solutions, providing members with the tools they need to be competitive in the market, including increased data analytics knowledge.”

The Predictive Analytics Certificate is comprised of eight e-learning modules. The first four modules are available now, including Problem Definition and Project Management; Data Sources, Structures, and Manipulation; Data Exploration and Visualization; and Feature Generation. However, there is an option to take an assessment at the completion of all eight modules. The remaining modules will be released through 2022.

The new Advanced Predictive Analytics Certificate includes four advanced e-learning modules and an optional assessment. These modules will be released in early 2023.

The Predictive Analytics Certificate Program was the first of three programs introduced at the SOA, part of our best-in-class education program offering hands-on practical instruction on timely topics. Other programs include the International Financial Reporting for Insurers (IFRI) Certificate and the Ethical and Responsible Use of Data and Predictive Models Certificate.
