Message One
It would be my honor and privilege to serve on the SOA Board and collaborate with other passionate volunteers to help shape the future of our profession. I have a track record of volunteering for and participating in SOA committees including exam committees and the SOA Retirement Section Council. After my service period ended on the Retirement Section Council, I continued to participate on the communications sub-committee serving as the co-editor of the quarterly Retirement Section News publication.
I have worked in the retirement space for over 23 years and am a proponent of defined benefit plans and retirement income solutions. One of my goals if elected to the SOA Board is to be a strong representative voice for innovation in the retirement and financial arenas. I have experience working with various colleagues within and outside my firm and am a results-driven professional. The work that the SOA and its members do in finding solutions to the financial risks faced by society is critical to the future of our profession. To that end, I would work to strengthen our communications and engagement with our membership which is our greatest resource.
I would like to see the SOA grow its membership and become the premier destination for risk management professionals worldwide. It is important to broaden the appeal of our profession and that can happen with a greater investment in early education, recruitment, and training opportunities. In addition, I would like to use the SOA Board member platform to mentor and inspire others from diverse backgrounds so that they can have a better chance of achieving their professional objectives and aspirations.
I believe I would make an effective SOA Board member given my enthusiasm, leadership experience and volunteering record. I would be honored to have your vote and give back to the profession that has rewarded me plentifully over my career.
