With my association of more than 3 decades with SOA as candidate, member, exam invigilator, ambassador, speaker and committee chair, I started giving thoughts to get to next level and contributing at strategic position of SOA. I held my decision couple of times in recent years because it is such a huge undertaking, and I didn’t want to commit unless I feel fully ready. I believe the time is just right now bringing my deep and wide international experience to SOA Board and drive the vision and growth of SOA and Actuarial Profession especially in international markets.
The talent, potential and interest I see from youngsters in actuarial profession in many international markets is also a strong push for me to take this step. I believe there is a need to act with urgency and pro-actively to engage and back them in this great profession. I look forward to your support to get international voice at SOA Board for mutual benefit of the board as well as members, candidates and stakeholders.

It's crucial to align career decisions with one's natural abilities. Opting for a profession that provides fulfillment and enthusiasm is essential. Each domain presents opportunities, as success can range from the highly accomplished to the moderately successful—it often depends on who genuinely enjoys their work versus who stumbles into it. Identifying one's true talents may not always be straightforward, and this is where the guidance of parents, teachers, and mentors becomes valuable. Programs like internships, job shadowing, and mentoring are beneficial, aiding both individuals in choosing the right career paths and organizations in recruiting the proper talent. Witnessing my former interns thrive in various industries and locations has been immensely satisfying. I am an advocate for organizations, regulatory bodies, and individuals to actively promote and support these initiatives.
