How You Can Make a Difference
Make a donation to one or both of the following organizations helping local communities during this pandemic.
Chef José Andrés founded World Central Kitchen (WCK) in 2010 to use the power of food to heal and strengthen communities through times of crisis and beyond. The WCK’s COVID-19 relief efforts include mobilizing hundreds of restaurants and kitchens to feed marginalized and vulnerable communities and the brave medical professionals on the front lines.
The COVID-19 pandemic has negatively impacted traditional safely nets like school feeding programs, city services and food banks, which are struggling to meet basic needs. Seniors are isolated for their safety and unable to access meal services and the country’s hospital workers are more stretched than ever before.
WCK is working across America to safely distribute individually packaged, fresh meals in communities that need support – for children and families to pick up and take home, as well as delivery to seniors who cannot venture outside. To date, WCK has provided over 25 million meals in more than 400 cities.
