Learn more about a variety of rules and regulations, especially Colorado’s proposed regulation requiring a governance and risk management framework for life insurance carriers’ use of external consumer data and information sources (ECDIS), and algorithms and predictive models using ECDIS. This Colorado proposal is more far-reaching than the requirements of other states like New York and Connecticut, who have put up guardrails for the use of new data sets and algorithms especially for underwriting. Consider implications of multiple ceded reinsurance contracts (e.g., coinsurance and YRT on the same business) and how this impacts the calculation of the net premium ratio (NPR) and other related approximations.
