Description: Smaller carriers often think reinsurance is out of reach, while reinsurers may dismiss them as not worth the effort. But that is not necessarily the case. In this interactive session, help us challenge our panel to dispel the myths around small carriers and reinsurance. The panel of representatives from small carriers, reinsurers and other experts will be peppered with questions from the moderator as well as from you and others in the audience. Description: There are many underwriting issues being discussed in states that challenge how information is used in the underwriting process. Learn more about a variety of rules and regulations, especially Colorado’s proposed regulation requiring a governance and risk management framework for life insurance carriers’ use of external consumer data and information sources (ECDIS), and algorithms and predictive models using ECDIS. This Colorado proposal is more far-reaching than the requirements of other states like New York and Connecticut, who have put up guardrails for the use of new data sets and algorithms especially for underwriting.
