Main Transition Rules

The following tables provide information regarding credits earned from SOA exams given in 2000 or later. Learn more about the credit transition process.

These tables reflect credits in the current system, and for fellowship-level exams, credits in the system that begins in fall 2025. Learn more about flexible exam choices prior to fall 2025.

When an exam has U.S. and Canadian versions, any transition is to the same jurisdiction. In the case of ILA exams, the transition for 2025 for Canadian versions is to the International version.

Enrolled Actuaries Exams

The exams of the Joint Board for the Enrollment of Actuaries have not changed and will continue to be offered. Candidates with credit for both EA2F and EA2L can apply them to receive credit for their choice of RET 201 or one additional course. Candidates wishing to use the RET 101-201 sequence to satisfy the two-course requirement may use the EA2 exams to meet the RET 201 requirement. They can also pass the RET 201 course and apply the EA2 exams to receive credit for one additional course.
