In Memory of James R. Bloyer

James R. Bloyer, FSA 1971, MAAA 1972, of Hillsboro, OR, died July 28, 2018, at age 74.  Jim was born August 4, 1943. Jim was graduated from The University of Illinois in 1965. He worked at NWNL in Minneapolis and most recently as CFO Sr. Actuary, The Standard, Portland, OR.  He retired in 2007. Jim is survived by sister Susan Phillips , nephew Andrew Phillips ,and niece Erin Lauinger, all of Minneapolis.

Jim's sister, Susan, recalls: “We were raised in Illinois. The family enjoyed many Cubs games at Wrigley Field. Living in Minneapolis and Portland didn’t deter his dedication to the Cubs. I recall him sharing the fact that he had an *alert* set on his cell phone, which would send him a message when the Cubs scored a run on game days. Those *alerts* were received happily and discretely during many business meetings.  Jim was a Chicago Cubs fan from age 7 until his death. It was a great thrill to watch the Cubs win the World Series in 2016!”
