Social Insurance Module

The Social Insurance FSA Module is an e–Learning module where you acquire and use knowledge that is distributed and facilitated electronically. The electronic e–Learning facility will also provide information regarding required text readings and other non–computer–based activities.

Employer–provided benefits should be designed to coordinate with social insurance programs. As you will learn in this module, the social insurance programs vary widely in their coverage, cost and benefits in different countries. It is critical that you be prepared to coordinate the employer–provided plans with the social insurance programs in your country. The Social Insurance Module goes into detail that you need to practice as an actuary in the United States or Canada.

Candidates have flexibility with regard to the order requirements are completed. However, the SOA has established a recommended order for each fellowship track. These recommendations are effective for all exams and modules completed after July 1, 2011. Candidates should be aware that an examination/module may assume familiarity with material that is covered in any requirement that is recommended to come before that examination or module.
