Editor's Column: Newsletter News
The Independent Consultant
Editor's Column: Newsletter News by Ruth Ann Woodley If you're reading this, you've already noticed that The Independent Consultant looks very different this time. As part of the SOA's effort to use more new technology, we had the opportunity to switch to this online format. I for one am very excited - the new format gives us the chance to try some new things, and fits in well with some of the section's initiatives. For example, we are working to develop a member benefits program that would offer discounts or other savings opportunities to EA Section members from companies that work with small businesses and want to attract the notice of our members. This idea is still in its infancy, but I hope to one day be including sidebars with links to partner companies. The e-newsletter format also makes it easier to include links to information on our section's Web page and to e-mail addresses and Web sites for our authors about whom you might want to learn more. We'll be able to better track which articles you read the most and tailor content to your interests. Starting with this issue, we'll be trying to include articles that answer specific questions from members ("Answers from The Independent Consultant"), and you can use the link there to send me questions you'd like to see answered. And now it will be even easier for you to send me feedback directly, letting me know what you did or didn't like reading about, what you'd like to see more of in the newsletter, or what you'd like to see changed. Please take advantage of the chance to send me your thoughts, and I'll continue working to make this newsletter more valuable to you!
