FAQs on Switching to a Virtual 2021 ImpACT Conference
Frequently Asked Questions are provided with answers below to assist with any questions you may have regarding the switch to an entirely virtual 2021 SOA ImpACT Conference. Question: What are the new event dates for the 2021 ImpACT Conference?
Answer: The 2021 ImpACT Conference will now take place October 25-29, 2021 online.
Question: What happens if I am already registered for the in-person conference?
Answer: Your registration will automatically be switched from in-person to virtual, and a new order will be created for you. We will process a reimbursement for the difference in price between the in-person and virtual fee in the next two weeks.
Please let us know at PD@soa.org if you are not interested in attending the virtual conference. We will reimburse your full registration fee if you are no longer interested in attending.
Question: I reserved a hotel room for the in-person conference, how do I cancel my reservation?
Answer: To cancel an existing hotel reservation you will need to visit the housing bureau’s website and click on “Manage Existing Reservation”. You will need the hotel confirmation number provided to you. Note: The SOA will not cancel hotel reservations, this will need to be done directly with the housing bureau.
Question: I selected sessions already for the in-person conference, will my selections transfer over?
Answer: The sessions you selected to attend at the in-person conference will not transfer over to the virtual event. You will be able to re-select your desired sessions when the virtual platform opens to attendees.
Question: What will happen to the in-person sessions I was originally interested in attending?
Answer: A fair amount of the in-person sessions will be transferred to the virtual event. Due to the format of our virtual platform and the setup of some sessions, there may be some sessions that are not offered virtually. Check the 2021 ImpACT Conference webpage for the updated agenda.
Question: What happens if I originally registered for the virtual conference?
Answer: Your individual registration will remain a virtual registration. As a virtual attendee, you will now have access to the entire meeting. This means you will be able to view a larger variety of sessions with your virtual registration.
Question: I am scheduled to present at the in-person conference. What should I do?
