At the Society of Actuaries (SOA), our goal is for all members to have equitable opportunities to grow and succeed in our chosen profession. The Scholarship Program is designed to offset financial barriers to attend the SOA’s 2023 Health Meetings.

Scholarship Criteria:

• Received your ASA less than five years ago
• Member of one of the participating Section(s)/Community:
  Actuary of the Future, Education & Research, Emerging Topics Community, Entrepreneurial & Innovation, Financial Reporting, Health, International, Investment, Leadership & Development, Long Term Care Insurance, Marketing & Distribution, Product Development, Reinsurance, Retirement, Social Insurance & Public Finance, Smaller Insurance Co., Taxation
• Not receiving employer support for your attendance at the meetings
• First-time attendee at the Health Meetings

Scholarship Awards:

• In-Person Scholarship – June 26–28, 2023, Seattle, WA
  • Registration fee
  • 3-night hotel stay (incidentals not included)
    Note: travel expenses are not included
• Virtual Scholarship -July 11–13, 2023
  • Registration fee

Applications Accepted: March 27 - April 17, 2023

Application Information:

• Must select Virtual or In-person option when applying
• There are a limited number of scholarships available. If the number of applicants exceeds the funds available, recipients will be chosen randomly to ensure equal opportunity.
• Agree to connect with participating Sections/Community to share feedback (in-person or virtually) as requested.
