PEA enables life insurers and policyholders to avoid market downturns and capture returns from equities (stocks, ETFs and mutual funds) predicted to increase in next one to three trade days via fund prediction advisory by insurers, additionally by individual policyholders. Description: The article provides a summary of the Drake Risk & Opportunity Forum held on October 21, 2022. The forum was a hybrid conference that attracted more than 200 attendees from 17 states, two countries, 48 employers, and five universities. Following an introduction by the Zimpleman College of Business Dean, the forum held six sessions. First was an insurance company CRO panel followed by a panel of non-insurance company CROs. Gary Zhu shared his outlook for interest rates and capital markets. The fourth panel discussed insurance capital models. The fifth panel discussed environmental, social, and governance (ESG) criteria when building insurance company investment portfolios. The final session of the day was a discussion about the NAIC, how they operate, and their priorities for the coming year.

Description: Capital market model return expectations took a nose-dive over the past year or two due to historically low interest rates and historically high pricing levels. It seemed reasonable to assume that macroeconomic fundamentals had changed so that these conditions may have become something like ""the new normal"". But now capital markets are shifting again, and rather dramatically, with runaway inflation and monetary policy changes aimed at controlling it. Capital market outlooks are shifting as well in response to this new starting point. What might be reasonable to assume now -- is this just a temporary blip or should we expect a totally different environment going forward? Description: Investing for retirement in other countries is different from investing for retirement in the U.S. and Canada. In developing countries, there are fewer investment opportunities and domestic markets are smaller and less liquid. National retirement systems may be established in part to support government debt issuance and to help develop domestic capital markets. Investment policy objectives tend to evolve over time as a country and its retirement system(s) develop together. Come broaden your horizons by painting a picture of a different investment paradigm than you are used to using examples from many countries around the world.
