Description: The Committee's charge was to develop new disability tables for possible adoption by appropriate authorities for valuation of individual policy reserves, i.e. active life reserves, and individual and group claim reserves for disabled lives. It was generally agreed that the current valuation table, the 1964 Commissioner’s Disability Table, ‘1964 CDT,’ was no longer appropriate for several reasons. Description: The Joint Committee on Health Insurance appointed a subcommittee, known as Task Force 4, to study the problems of reserves for accident and health insurance. The final report of the Task Force, including basic tables of net annual claim costs for hospital and surgical expense insurance, was adopted by the NAIC at its December 1956 meeting. This article contains the Task Force's final report [included as Appendix A] and 30 Tables for use in valuing hospital and surgical expense insurance in accordance with the recommendations of Task Force 4.
