In addition, the article offers insights into common issues and recommendations for VM-31 reports from the viewpoints of a regulator, consultant, and company actuary.

Description: This 1980 session covers amendments to the SNL and SVL and the anticipated revision to the CSO Mortality Table. Questions discussed: 1. What changes can be expected in requirements in the1980's? 2. What changes in products design will likely emerge from these? 3. What will be the effect on future gross premium, cash value, and reserve levels? 4. Will these changes be compatible with all economic forecast scenarios? 5. Will these changes create a need for increased gross premium rates or for higher company surplus levels? 6. Should attention to solvency measures be increased? 7. Are the allowable valuation interest rates sufficiently liberal?

Description: This paper discusses adjustable life insurance and certain theoretical problems of these policies. It also covers how the Commissioners Reserve Valuation Method, CRVM, may be extended to cover adjustable life policies and defines formulas for the additional expense allowance at the time of change. Description: The valuation manual is a living document that continues to evolve. As more companies adopt Principle-Based Reserving (PBR) and file PBR Actuarial Reports, regulators have observed gaps and inconsistencies across the industry. As a result, PBR reporting requirements (VM-31) have expanded significantly in 2020 and still continue to evolve. This session will provide attendees with everything they need to fill out their PBR reports for both Life business and Variable Annuity business. We will dig into the new changes effective for 2020 reporting and approved changes for 2021, and compare and contrast the Life and VA requirements to help companies identify areas that can be leveraged between the two. In addition, we will share insights from regulators, consultants, and company actuaries on what to include or exclude in your report.
