Also a discussion of the experience of Great Britain and other countries with war deaths of 1 military personnel and 2 civilians and how this experience might be used to anticipate the extent of possible civilian war catastrophes and their effect on life insurance companies in United States and Canada. This panel further explores problems arising in connection with aviation risks as well as with the underwriting of war correspondents, Red Cross workers, members of the Merchant Marine and other auxiliary services.

Discusssion of the practical considerations involved in deciding whether or not to adopt projected mortality rates in connection with individual annuities, settlement options, retirement income policies, and the various forms of group annuities. B. In view of increased administrative expenses, discussion of the arguments for and against imposing limitations on the granting of settlement options with respect to size of policy, including the practicality of providing for the expense of administering supplementary contracts other than through the use of conservative mortality and interest assumptions.
