Description: Presented at October 1996 Annual Meeting. How do we quantify our unique skills and articulate them to nontraditional industries to enhance their awareness of actuaries and the role they can play in these industries? The profession has struggled with developing a strategic marketing plan for expanding actuarial opportunities to nontraditional employers. Part of the struggle centers on clearly defining and articulating the “product” that actuaries have to market. This role play helps clarify this definition.

Description: Undoubtedly you have heard and read a lot about the Society’s Image Campaign, which launched into full gear this year. As a member of the Actuary of the Future AOF Section you have heard and read about the Actuarial Pioneer or Career Pioneer program and its continuing evolution. These two initiatives fit together very well, and our section council has established them as two of our top priorities for the next year as we continue to lend support and leadership to developing these efforts.
