As a result of ageing workforce and increasing life expectancy, retirement savings gap is becoming a major social issue for many countries. An effective retirement systems require all stakeholders including the government, employers, retirement services providers and individuals to understand the risks involved, their roles and responsibilities, and to commit to do their part in tackling the retirement savings gap issue. This presentation will point out where improvements can be made from each stakeholder's perspectives, with a focus on the Asia markets which contain a mix of some of the most populous countries in the world and countries with very small population, developed economies as well as emerging markets, young and old labor force, and finally different cultures, all of which affects how people view and prepare for retirement.

Description: The SOA Investment Section is holding a three-part Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) Investment Considerations Webcast Series in September and October, which will cover the challenges and implementation. This series is suited for actuaries, consultants, plan sponsors and asset managers that work with insurance companies or pension funds and want to learn more about the latest in ESG. Description: Our understanding of the biology of aging is increasing rapidly, creating insight into how and why any organism is aging. Some of the mechanisms by which the process of aging occurs in mammals are sufficiently well understood that clinical trials targeting them in humans to improve later life health and longevity are now being undertaken. Translating results seen in mammals to humans has the potential to increase life expectancy far beyond what we have seen historically. Come explore the current state and outlook of research.
