Marketing, distribution, and user experience have become the trinity in finding, acquiring, and keeping a user through the end of an application process. Recently, particularly in the post-COVID digital-first world, many insurance companies have transformed their technology teams to build significantly improved user-experiences on their websites and mobile apps. The designs are often limited by the insurance products that the consumer wants to interact with (and how they want to interact). In this session, the presenters will look at how actuaries can design the insurance product simultaneously to the user experience, and let the experience drive product development.

Solutions that improve the efficiency of policy underwriting and issue include automated underwriting systems, expert requirement systems and underwriter workbenches. Finally, solutions that automate inforce policy management and compliance include anti-money laundering AI systems, in-force illustration systems to satisfy annual statement compliance and claims processing systems. There is a race to gain competitive advantage by getting to a digitally transformed future first.
